Recycling is mandatory in the
Town of Rockland.
Trash and non-recyclable items, including plastic bags, foam plastic, wet and food contaminated items, may not be deposited in the recycling area*.
Single Stream Recycling items can be disposed at the RRC no charge for Rockland Residents. Please note that large cardboard must be broken broken down.
Empty pizza boxes, even with grease, are recyclable, and can be placed in your recycling bin. Just ensure they are empty, free of food, liners, and pizza savers, and fold them inside out.
Yard Waste (no charge): Drop off yard waste at the "Brush Pile" in designated area. No charge for residents with valid RRC Access.

Hazardous waste cannot be disposed of at the RRC: The Town conducts periodic hazardous waste collection with the aid of a contractor capable of properly disposing of the material collected. These items include: oil-based paints, solvents, pool chemicals, pesticides, degreasers, mothballs, asbestos, wood preservatives, furniture strippers, ammunition, medical waste, radioactive waste.
